St. Anne's Church

Penetanguishene is a largely French Catholic community in Central Ontario. The original influence of the Catholic Church dates to the Jesuits in the early 1600's who established nearby Ste. Marie Among the Hurons. This church is one of those dedicated to the Jesuit priests and has a statue of Father Brefeuf who was martyred at nearby St. Ignace on its front lawn.
