Photography - An Elusive Dream

I am always amazed by the nice pictures that people take. I wonder whether I can ever shoot pictures that will be appreciated by people. It has always been my silent dream to take beautiful pictures. In my lifetime, I have never owned a photographer's camera - I mean the SLR or the DSLR. I remember buying the cheap one just to be able to take pictures of some special events. It's always the point-and-shoot model.

That is one reason why I did not have many pictures of my childhood years. When we wanted to have our portraits taken, my parents would take us to the studio to have our family picture. If ever we had to capture special memories, we would borrow a camera.

When a I had a family of my own I started to take pictures. During the time our son was born, we always had the "first" in his life captured in pictures. In spite of the limited capability of my instamatic camera I was able to take nice pictures.

My dream became a reality when my loving wife bought me a Nikon D60 camera last December 2008. It was one of my happiest moments - a secret wish came true.
The series of postings in this blog will all be about my photography life.
