Cool Lakeside View

Focal Length=5.8mm; Exposure=1/160; Aperture=f/8.0; ISO=125
When I started with this blog, I used a black background for my header with myself shooting a picture on the left-hand side. It was kind of nice. But then I thought - that the main background was already black. It seemed to swallow my header and did not give a good impact of my Blog title - Amateur's Eye View.

And so I decided to use something that would appeal to the eye - a portrait that would give life to my blog at first glance. I chose a simple but eye-catching picture which I took last October 2007 while traveling north with my charming wife to watch the scenic sights of Toronto during fall. We went to this lake and just sat there to relax while watching the sun set. We enjoyed the cool afternoon breeze, which created ripples on the water that soothe our view.

Would you believe that I captured nature's beauty with only my point-and-shoot Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 (7.2 MP) digital camera? I guess I was lucky because it was such a beautiful day and I had just the right amount of sunlight.
