From Killarney, we proceeded to French River (the name of the town), which was around 45-minute drive and where the French River crosses.
Again, we were not disappointed to see the French River and the largest Snowmobile Bridge spanning over the river. It is one of its kind in the world, which spans 512 ft. long; 12 ft. wide and is 90 ft. over the water. It can carry a large heavy trail grooming machine or over 100 snowmobiles at a time.

The photo below shows the regular bridge along Highway 69 crossing the French River and was taken from the Snow Mobile Bridge.
The beauty of the French River is emphasized by the reflection of the setting sun.Waiting for sunset in this place is simply stunning...
At the end of the day, we had to rest and find a place to sleep. I would recommend this motel along Highway 69, with superb amenities - hot and cold water, TV with cable, aircon (and heater during winter), a small kitchen with stove and utensils. Most of all wi-fi is available and free.
A cozy place to stay - Hungry Bear Motel along Highway 69. |
